Même Bete Handcrafted Bags rocks accessories with an Afro-Caribbean flare!
Taribba do Nascimento, born in St. Lucia and owner of Même Bete Handcrafted Bags, is building her brand one fashion accessory at a time. What started off as a passion project has expanded into a diverse brand that includes purses, clutches, scarves, face masks and a host of other diverse accessories.
Tarriba began her love of leathercraft in Ethiopia and honed her skills in Florence, Italy. She started Meme Bete with one simple goal of putting St. Lucia on the map as ‘as a viable contributor to the global fashion industry.’
She established a brand identity for Même Bete that was built on the premise that there is ‘simplicity in luxury’. Her designs are inspired by the beautiful island of St. Lucia using local materials where possible while maintaining the feel of ‘laid back luxe.’ St Lucia is also called the Helen of the West Indies, renowned for the Piton Mountains and the famous sulfur springs. It is easy to see how they inspire such beautiful art-work.
She continues to build her strong brand by ensuring consistency with the quality of her work and making sure her deliverables are finished well.
Taribba is definitely a Karibbean Kreative On The Rise that we are keeping our eyes on. Be sure to check out her brand, Même Bete at https://memebete.com/ or on instagram at www.instagram.com/memebete.bags
