Anita Antoinette releases new video for CARE || Music Mondays
Anita Antoinette is an alum of the show-NBC’s The Voice who was in the Top Ten (10) finalist group. She is a soulful singer that evokes memories of Lauryn Hill at her best, but with much more. She has released her new single this year called “Care”. Care is a positive Reggae roots song with a haunting warning of a chorus sang beautifully and powerfully by Anita Antoinette. “Care” demands that we love each other and speaks strongly against racism, violence, greed, hunger, & selfishness.
With a well-executed sound track that reminds one of the golden era of Reggae music, mixed with a clean modern mix, the song and singer takes the listener on a soaring & inspirational journey to being better than the listener was before for humanity’s sake.
Antoinette and her management team, Midilord, has released a video for the song. This music video was directed by independent film Director Sade Clacken. Anita and Sade met at The White House in Washington DC during a Caribbean American Heritage month event. Anita was there to perform the Star Spangled Banner as part of her duty while serving as Caribbean American Heritage Month Music Ambassador. Sade was there to receive an award for her documentary “Run Carlos Run”.
“Care” was released on June 15th 2016 as her debut single, but was written while she was still attending high school. Years later, in 2011 Anita arranged the music on her own and had it recorded before her appearance on NBC’s hit talent show The Voice. “Care” was later revised and co-produced by her Manager Duane Summers.
Anita grew up dancing to the rhythm of her father’s music. Clinton Fearon was a member of The Gladiators, a Jamaican roots reggae band, most popular during the 1970s in Kingston, Jamaica. A self-taught singer and guitarist, Anita began writing her own music as a teenager, inspired both by her father and other legends, including Bob Marley, India Arie, and Erykah Badu. She graduated from the prestigious Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts in 2008, and was accepted to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Professional Music with a Concentration in Music Business and Songwriting.
Anita Antoinette has performed on stages large and small throughout New England, the Northeast and the Pacific Northwest, including a 2008 appearance at the Library of Congress in Washington DC. She has appeared on the 3rd and 7th season of NBC’s hit show, “The Voice”. In the 7th season she placed in the TOP TEN and easily became one of the most loved and talked about performers. In June of 2016 Anita was appointed Caribbean American Heritage Month Music Ambassador and represented the Caribbean Diaspora at The White House.
Anita is currently working on her EP with her manager Duane “Midilord” Summers, former Production Manager for multi-platinum selling and Grammy award winning artist Sean Paul.
“For Anita’s second blind audition, she won over all four coaches with this unique take on Bob Marley.” – TV Guide News, The Voice: 2nd Best Blind Auditions Of All Time.
